Watch Movement

1. Introduction

The Selitta SW 200 is an automatic mechanical movement produced by the Swiss watch manufacturer, Selitta. This movement is widely recognized for its reliability and performance in the watch industry. It combines precision engineering with self-winding capabilities, making it an excellent choice for watch enthusiasts.

 

Sigma Valmon uses only premium-grade Selitta movements, adjusted in five positions, for superior accuracy and reliability.

 

2. Key Features

  • Automatic Movement: The SW 200 is self-winding, powered by the natural motion of the wearer’s wrist. No manual winding is required.

  • Power Reserve: Approximately 38 hours of continuous operation, even when not worn.

  • Accuracy: Operates at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, ensuring precise timekeeping.

  • Date Indicator (if applicable): Displays the current date.

 

3. Operating Instructions

 

3.1 Setting the Time and Date

  1. Unscrew the Crown: Ensure that your watch is perfectly dry. Gently unscrew the crown.

  2. Position I (Manual Winding): Pull the crown to position II. Rotate it clockwise to manually wind the movement.

  3. Position III (Date Setting): Move the crown to position III. Rotate it to adjust the date.

  4. Position IV (Time Setting): Move the crown to position IV. Rotate it to set the correct time.

  5. Avoid Date Changes: Refrain from changing the date between 4:00 PM and 4:00 AM.

 

4. Maintenance Tips

  • Regular Wear: Wear the watch regularly to keep the movement powered.

  • Avoid Extreme Conditions: Protect the watch from extreme temperatures, shocks, and magnetic fields.

  • Service Intervals: Consider professional servicing every few years to maintain optimal performance.

 

5. Troubleshooting

  • Watch Stops: If the watch stops, gently wind the crown in position II to restart it.

  • Inaccurate Timekeeping: Ensure the watch is worn regularly to maintain accuracy.
